Privacy

Larakey doesn’t collect anything. This page explains what it can see on your computer and why.

What the app sees

To play a sound, Larakey listens for key and mouse events system-wide. It only uses the kind of key you pressed:

  • space
  • enter
  • backspace and delete
  • modifier keys such as Shift, Ctrl, Cmd and Tab
  • any other key
  • which mouse button you clicked

It never turns key events into text, so it doesn’t know what you type. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Key events stay inside the app’s sound engine and never pass through Laravel.

Why macOS asks for Accessibility access

macOS only lets apps hear the keyboard outside their own window with Accessibility permission. Larakey uses it only to play sounds. You can turn it off at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Network access

The only connection Larakey makes is to GitHub Releases, to check for new versions. That request contains nothing about you or your typing beyond what any web request includes, such as your IP address.

Your settings

Your chosen packs, volume and options are saved on your computer and nowhere else.

This website

This site has no analytics, ads or tracking cookies. The keyboard demo runs in your browser and doesn’t send your keystrokes anywhere.

Check it yourself

Larakey is open source. You can read the sound engine and everything else in the GitHub repository.
